I haven’t seen LoneWolf’s subs, but I did find some errors in AEN’s…

yeah I did too, AEN must have done it too quickly lol

the lone wolf one seemed fine to me…i vote that

Either one’s fine really. Minor mistakes and mistranslations aren’t going to kill anyone who doesn’t know what’s actually being said. Besides, they get the point across yeah?
I only watched AEN’s subs though.

is it me or is it that ayakashi doesn’t have any subs? i’ve certainly set my media player correctly to allow any kind of subs, and it certainly shows on the sub loader that there really is suppose to be there, but i’ve loaded all those subs and none of them seems to be showing.

there is also another anime i can’t seem to load the subs either, Zettai_Karen_Children.

AEN for Soul Eater

I watched AEN and parts of the LWF sub, and I prefer the AEN one. Comparing the phrasing of some scenes between them, it seems that AEN is more natural. But then again, I don’t know what they are saying in Japanese anyway.

i tried opening both animes with km player and media player classic, for media player classic not even the sound came up, and for km player the subs don’t show, could you not host up the anime in dif files?
April 12th, 2008 at 11:49 pm

April 13th, 2008 at 12:23 am
shugo chara ep23, is there something dif about the sub files from it compared to the other eps? cos i could open 1-22 fine, but 23 the subs arn’t loading.

I’d say I choose lone wolf for the subbing of soul eater.
April 13th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
There is also Rumbel subs of Soul Eater, first ep both cut and uncut versions, later they will chose one of them I hope uncut, after watching all groups subs I think Rumbel’s is the best.
April 13th, 2008 at 1:25 pm
nunuhaza I suggest that you reinstall CCCP for it to work
April 13th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
I just noticed that I wasn’t the 1st one who’s already seen Rumbel’s subs, if we can add Rumbel to the list, I’d choose Rumbel’s subs, if we have to stick to the options already given I’d go with AEN’s subs

As of now, all the subs by AEN I watched have been so-so at best (e.g. Prism Ark). Some errors in subs, translation (”Templeritta”) and the video quality isn’t outstanding either. Even worse they used an MP4-container for this release, which I always have trouble playing (wonder if I’m the only one having problems with it…).
I haven’t watched their release of Soul Eater, so take my comments on it with a grain of salt…
As for Rumble’s subs (which I watched before LWF’s), I found the video quality to be so-so. The subs were OK, but the font used (in the softsubbed MKV) wasn’t.
Finally, I would choose Lone-Wolf’s subs over the others. Video quality is good, subs are well done, especially for softsubs (played with MPlayer).
Translation is ok too, even though I think that they translated a few terms they didn’t need to (e.g. unlike Rumbel they used Demons as name for… well… those demons … whatever they were called…)

Video quality for Lone-Wolf is good because the file size is 336MB. Compared with AEN’s ~180MB episode, I will take the smaller file size almost anyday. The quality is not much different, imo. That’s not really about the subs themselves, but still important.

Wow, 21 comments (22 including mine), that’s a first!
Anyway, our site is all about quality, so we will (almost) ALWAYS pick the subs with the BEST quality. Only on cases where the subbing far surpasses the other alternative do we choose one with a lesser quality video encode.
Hope that clears some stuff up. =D Gonna have another huge HUGE update soon!
